Replenish Big Bear
The Big Bear Valley is among many California communities that need assistance for water management. Big Bear is fortunate to have a plan to maintain the level of the lake.
The Replenish Big Bear project will recycle waste water and return that water to the lake. The treatment of the water will make the water so pure that, in fact, it is not safe to drink. Pure water is reactive and will extract natural minerals out of our body. However, after the water is treated it will be introduced into the Stanfield March/Sand Canyon aquifer. The water will combine with the water already in the lake and thus is safe to be in the lake.
Yes, Replenish Big Bear is an expensive project. The project uses mature technology instead of being an experiment. A project like this will only become more expensive in the future. Big Bear Valley has the opportunity to do something about our lake and we should proceed with this project.
